3* New York Yankees -1.5 (-110)
BLOWOUT in Baltimore tonight. Sabathia is looking for his first win tonight, and I think he gets it in convincing fashion. It looks like the magic is over for the 8-10 Orioles, as they are 2-9 in their last 11 games. On the season they are just 1-7 against teams with winning records.
Tonight does not look promising for the Birds either, as they are hitting just .167 against left handed starters and averaging just 2 runs per game. They now face CC Sabathia who is hungry for a W. He has pitched well this season, posting a 2.52 ERA through 4 starts but has just an 0-1 record to show. That changes tonight; he is 14-2 against Baltimore in his career with a 2.86 ERA and a 1.101 WHIP. He will do his job and hold this Orioles' offense to 3 or less.
The Yankees offense should feast tonight against Brad Bergesen who is 0-2 this season with a 4.15 era in 2 starts. He is 0-2 in his career against the Yankees with a 6.6 ERA and a 1.468 WHIP. He has not pitched past the 5th inning this season, and I don't expect that to change tonight. The Yankees have averaged 6 runs per game against right handed starters, and they have hit 24 homeruns in 11 games against them. Bergesen has allowed 3 long balls in his 8.2 innings of work this season. The Orioles pen has been sporadic and have a 4.19 ERA. They have allowed 10 homeruns in 58 innings pitched. Expect some fireworks from New York tonight
