2* Detroit Tigers +135 - Getting Verlander at a nice plus number is always rare, so we have to take this opportunity. We are hoping that his improved off season regiment will fiz his usual slow start to the year. Verlander and Sabathia squared off twice last season, splitting the games, but Verlander gave up just 3 runs in these two starts on 9 hits and 1 homerun, while Sabathia gave up 8 earned, on 14 hits, including 4 homeruns!  Sabathia is also a slow starter, and I expect the Tigers to come out with confidence and ruin the Yankees' opener.

2* Kansas City Royals +130 - Kansas City raked all spring, and compiled a league best 20-10 record and a Cactus League leading 230. Granted it is spring training, but this young Royals team is excited and motivated to put together the second winning season in the last 17 years.  Trends and history say that the Angels and Weaver should be -220 favorites.  I think the line is low for a reason.  The Royals have a good chance to take the opener at home, and we'll cash in on that.
